MANILA, Philippines – For the second time, former vice mayor Francis Zamora is running for mayor of San Juan City with the promise of a new and free San Juan.
On Friday, March 29, Zamora and his party mates in PDP-Laban kicked off their campaign at Plaza ng Masa in their city, gathering hundreds of supporters.
San Juan needs to be new and free from what? According to Zamora and his allies, from the prolonged leadership of the Ejercito-Estrada clan.
The PDP-Laban San Juan slate promises WiFi for all San Juaneños, in response to the city already falling behind its neighbors green city Pasig, and smart city Quezon City.
They also want a public hospital with modern equipment and new government buildings that would implement a "San Juaneños first" policy. Above all, they promise to stay away and fight corruption.
Will these be enough to challenge the Ejercitos and Estradas? Rappler's Rambo Talabong files this report. – Rappler.com
