Over 2,000 people lose homes in Cebu City fire

Investigators are still determining the cause of the fire

More than 2,000 people lost their homes after fire struck their community in Sitio Lawis, Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City on Friday, November 26.

The fire started at around 5 pm and ended at 7 pm on Friday.

Based on initial reports provided by Sangguniang Kabataan Chairperson Sharmaine Buen Maloloy-on, a total of 478 families or at least 412 houses were affected by the fire.

The property damage is estimated at around P875,000.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined as of this posting.

Those who wish to help the fire victims may choose to donate food, clothing, water, medical supplies, and hygiene kits to the Office of the Sangguniang Kabataan, located near the Mambaling barangay hall.
