MANILA, Philippines – Filipino war veterans will be able to ride the Light Rail Transit (LRT) lines for free starting Tuesday, April 7, until Saturday, April 11.
The LRT Authority (LRTA) said the free rides are part of the observance of Philippine Veterans Week and Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor), which falls on Thursday, April 9.
"All Filipino veterans may avail of free rides at LRT Lines 1 and 2 on April 7 to 11, 2015 from 5:00 a.m. up to the end of revenue service," the LRTA said.

Bonafide Filipino veterans must present their valid Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) or Veteran ID cards to avail themselves of the free rides.
One caregiver per veteran will also be able to ride for free.
The LRTA added that the "No ID, No Free Ride" rule will apply.
Line 1 runs from Roosevelt in Quezon City to Baclaran in Parañaque City while Line 2 runs from Santolan in Marikina City to C.M. Recto in Manila. – Rappler.com
