Grenade found outside Philippine Star office in Manila
The grenade no longer had its pin in when it was found

A grenade without a pin was found outside the office of the Philippine Star and underwent controlled detonation by the police before it could harm anyone on Sunday, July 18.

According to a report by DZBB, at around 9 am, a hand grenade was found inside a kariton (pushcart) parked in front of the Philippine Star office on Railroad Drive in the Port Area of Manila.

The grenade did not have its control pin so it could not simply be extracted from the area.

The police decided to cordon off the area before detonating it.

Police have not reported any leads as to why a grenade was there, but they suspect that it could be related to an earlier arrest in the area, in which a man was reported to be abusing his live-in partner.

The man was found to have possessed a grenade, the report said. – Rappler.com
