MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines is set to make wearing of face masks indoors voluntary. This, despite the detection of cases of the most transmissible Omicron variant XBB in the country.

At a press briefing on Tuesday, October 25, Tourism Secretary Cristina Frasco said the move to ease the pandemic protocol was “to allow our country to be at par with our ASEAN neighbors who have long liberalized their mask mandates.”
