MANILA, Philippines – Marawi City Vice Mayor Arafat Salic has been arrested by the police and military for rebellion charges, the Armed Forces of the Philippines announced on Wednesday, March 13.

"Salic is included in the Office of the Martial Law Administrator Arrest Order dated September 4, 2017 for rebellion case," Colonel Romeo Brawner, 103rd Infantry Brigade Commander, said in a statement.

Salic was arrested by cops and soldiers from the 82nd Infantry Battalion at the Marawi City Hall around 10 am on Wednesday.

According to the military, Salic has undergone debriefing and medical check-ups. He is set to be turned over to the Philippine National Police.
