MMDA announces alternative routes for EDSA Sept 11 rally

MANILA, Philippines – Thinking of passing by EDSA Shrine on Wednesday, September 11? No, you cannot get through – a "prayer vigil" against the pork barrel will be held in the area from 11 am to 4 pm.

Better take the alternative routes.

Over 5,500 people have confirmed attendance at "EDSA Tayo, according to their official Facebook event page. The vigil is a follow-up on earlier protests against the controversial Priority Development Assistance Fund that fake NGOs are suspected of misusing in collusion with lawmakers.

According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, "pre-implementation" of the alternative routes will begin at 9 am. Beginning 11 am, "full implementation" of the following alternative routes will be enforced:
