Youngsters with comorbidities will be prioritized and they need to show a medical certificate or medical clearance. All applicants, including those without existing health conditions, should bring proof of their age and birthdate, and be accompanied by a parent.

De Guzman said the PHO has deployed a total of six groups for their mobile vaccination program.

Data from the Ilocos Center for Health Development (CHD) shows Pangasinan with the lowest percentage of vaccinated individuals in Region 1 or Northern Luzon, which also includes the Ilocos provinces.

Dr. Rheuel Bobis, CHD focal person for COVID-19, said the province only has 20.48% of its total eligible population fully vaccinated.

Pangasinan is the most populous province in the region, housing three-fifths of the region’s total population.

Bobis said more vaccine allotment in the region has been focused in Pangasinan.

As per CHD data, 32.13% of individuals in Pangasinan have been inoculated for their first dose, 39.78% in La Union, 57.6% in Ilocos Sur, and 55.15% in Ilocos Norte.

Patuloy po tayong nakikipag-ugnayan sa mga lokal na pamahalaan upang pabilisin at pataasin pa ang arawang bilang ng nababakunahan sa buong rehiyon”, said Bobis.

(We continue to coordinate with local governments to hasten the process and increase the daily vaccination rates.)

Both Bobis and de Guzman expect the region to reach its herd immunity by the end of 2021. – Rappler.com
