LOOK: Heavy rain floods Metro Manila, Rizal

MANILA, Philippines (7th UPDATE) – Heavy rain poured on Saturday, August 11, flooding several areas in Metro Manila and Rizal.

Tropical Storm Karding (Yagi) left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday morning, but it will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon or hanging habagat.

At 8 pm on Saturday, PAGASA issued a red rainfall warning for Metro Manila and Rizal which means torrential rain and intense flooding were expected in the areas for the next two hours.

It issued an orange rainfall warning for Cavite, Bataan, Sambals, Nueve Exija, Pampanga, Bulacan, which means intense rainfall in the next two hours, and threat of flood in low-lying areas and near rivers.

A yellow rainfall warning was issued for Tarlac, Laguna, Batangas and northern Quezon which means heavy rain will persist in these areas for the next two hours, and possible flooding in low-lying areas. (READ: FAST FACTS: Tropical cyclones, rainfall advisories)
