MANILA, Philippines – Rappler reporter Patricia Evangelista follows Bayan Muna partylist Rep Teddy Casiño as he races for the Philippine Senate. Casiño says he does not fear the reigning Team PNoy and United Nationalist Alliance coalitions.

“Of course we can’t compete with the money and the paid audiences that they will bring to their proclamations this afternoon, but we believe you cannot win simply by buying your audiences.”

The former Bayan Muna campaign manager says he believes he has a fighting chance to win a senatorial seat. A recent Pulse Asia survey ranks Casiño at 24-25, one of the lowest among incumbent officials.

He is not worried. The people, he says, will make their voice heard. – Rappler.com
