MANILA, Philippines – San Juan Rep Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito has received the most number of Commission on Elections (Comelec) notices on poster violations so far, the poll body said Thursday, April 11.

In March, it was Hontiveros who topped the list of poster violators. She got 3 notices from the Comelec, according to a document provided by the Comelec education and information department on March 31. In a tweet on March 4, Comelec chair Sixto Brillantes Jr said Hontiveros received 4 notices.

The Comelec then recorded only one notice for Ejercito.

2 months, 56 notices

Since the campaign period for national candidates began on February 12, the Comelec said it has sent 56 notices to 23 candidates.

This means only 10 out of 33 senatorial candidates, or 30.3%, have maintained a clean slate in terms of compliance with poster rules.

On Thursday, the Comelec released another list of poster violators, this time among party-list candidates. The poll body said it has sent 73 notices to party-list groups since February 12.

The party-list group that got the most number of notices is Buhay Hayaan Yumabong (Buhay) Party-List, which is backed by the El Shaddai.

Buhay faced a Comelec preliminary investigation, also on Thursday, over an election case stemming from illegal posters.

This year, for the first time, the Comelec has waged a war against illegal posters, resulting in a noticeable decrease in such posters around the Philippines. – Rappler.com
