MANILA, Philippines – National and local police have started deploying law enforcers in various localities in Luzon to ensure safe and peaceful elections, according to various news reports on Thursday, May 9.

In addition to Philippine National Police’s annoucement to deploy 30,000 officers last April 30, local police started to mobilize their units as well.

The PNP said it will deploy 20,000 police officers different parts of Metro Manila on election day.

In Batangas, 1,960 police and soldiers have been deployed.
