PAGADIAN CITY, Philippines – The local bloc of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) in Zamboanga del Sur is poised to win the majority of the contested positions in 24 out of 26 municipalities in the province based on the partial and unofficial count of the Comelec-Rappler Mirror Server as of 8:47 AM, May 16.

In the first district, NPC’s mayoral, vice mayoral and councilor bets are leading the races in the municipalities of Dumingag, Josefina, Mahayag, Midsalip, Molave, Ramon Magsaysay, Sominot, Tambulig, and Tukuran.

The municipality of Aurora has the Liberal Party (LP) mayoral candidate leading the race. While in the municipality of Labangan, the leading vice mayoral candidate is also from LP.
