Funny, strange, outrageous campaign posters in Cebu City
From Panday to CommandoTerte to 'long and hard' candidates, check out some of the more colorful political posters popping up around Cebu

CEBU CITY, Philippines – In Cebu, we see a lot of strange things on the street. But the sights and sounds get weirder come campaign period.

Chances are, you’ve seen countless campaign posters that have most likely made you laugh out loud or roll your eyes.

These posters made us do both.

1. ‘Panday awakens’

Roll galactic credits. Apparently, the force has been strong with Fredo.

Starring City Council candidate Joel Garganera as the iconic Panday/Flavio.

He also released a profile magazine earlier this week called Panday Mag. The magazine featured more photos of him in Panday costume. The magazine was distributed in the local barangays.

Garganera’s running mates are featured as the cast and crew, from producers to stunt coordinators of the fictional movie.

2. TAAS, dako, gahi?

Meet Harry Radaza. He’s running for City Councilor in Lapu-Lapu City but before you get any ideas on what exactly is long, big, and hard about him, let the guy explain in another one of his campaign ads.

He looks to the future. He’s got a big – heart, too, at that. He stands hard, firm and strong.

3. CommandoTerte

COMMANDOTERTE. A poster showing 'CommandoTerte' in Cebu.

In this poster, presidential candidate Rodrigo “The Punisher” Duterte is dressed as a commando, thus, “CommandoTerte”

Duterte got his moniker from his alleged involvement in the extrajudicial killing of suspected criminals in Davao City.

Rodrigo “Bebot” Abellanosa, founder of the Asian College of Technology, is running for reelection as Cebu City Second District Representative under the  Liberal Party. He is known as “CoKo” or Congressman ko.

His poster  shows Abellanosa’s head attached to the body of the TV character Cardo played by Coco Martin.

The Office of the Ombudsman has ordered his dismissal after finding the representative guilty of grave misconduct, but Congress has not acted on the order.
