MANILA, Philippines – The Metropolitan Development Authority (MMDA) is set to deploy more than 2,000 personnel starting Friday, May 6, until Tuesday, May 10, as part of its traffic management plans for the 2016 elections.

In a statement, MMDA Chairman Emerson Carlos said that 2,664 employees from the agency’s different units will be dispatched to direct traffic around polling precincts, the Commission on Elections, and the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), where votes for the senatorial and party-list elections will be canvassed.

Additional MMDA personnel will also be manning bus terminals, sea ports, and exit points to and from the Philippine capital, such as North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), Coastal Road, McArthur Highway, Marcos Highway, Mindanao Avenue, and A. Bonifacio Drive.
