Campaign Convos: The problem of the Opposition
Opposition candidates have a lot going against them in this campaign.
Compared to the ruling PDP-Laban and Sara Duterte's Hugpong ng Pagbabago, opposition candidates have few local officials on their side, and do not have the well-oiled campaign machinery to raise the chances of lesser-known bets. President Rodrigo Duterte has also made attacks against them a regular fixture of his campaign speeches.
On top of that, disagreements and conflicts among them have not abated less than 3 weeks before the elections.
Supporters of the once-dominant Liberal Party and the Left are still bickering, and Otso Diretso still finds it difficult to complete the slate during sorties for practical reasons.
