Cynthia Villar, Grace Poe top elections in first transmission
MANILA, Philippines – Senators Cynthia Villar and Grace Poe grabbed the top two spots in the initial and unofficial results from the Commision on Election’s (Comelec) transparency server.
Villar, who topped the surveys shortly before the elections, has garnered 93,660 votes as of 6:23 PM. Poe came in second with 83,258 votes.
Former Special Assistant to the President Bong Go got the third spot with 73,786 votes.
Except for Binay and Lapid, all top candidates belong to the administration-backed Hugpong ng Pagbabago slate:
- Pia Cayetano
- Bato dela Rosa
- Sonny Angara
- Imee Marcos
- Lito Lapid
- Francis Tolentino
- Nancy Binay
- Bong Revilla
- JV Ejercito
The partial and unofficial results reported represent 0.38% of precincts or 168,692 out of 63,662,481 registered voters.
