12 provincial bus routes to open September 30

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will open 12 provincial bus routes starting September 30.

The LTFRB issued Memorandum Circular 2020-051 under which the following routes may begin operating on September 30:

• San Fernando, Pampanga – Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City;
• Batangas City, Batangas – Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITx);
• Lemery, Batangas – PITx;
• Lipa City, Batangas – PITx;
• Nasugbu, Batangas – PITx;
• Indang, Cavite – PITx;
• Mendez, Cavite – PITx;
• Tagaytay City, Cavite – PITx;
• Ternate, Cavite – PITx;
• Calamba City, Laguna – PITx;
• Siniloan, Laguna – PITx;
• Sta. Cruz, Laguna – PITx.

Operation of the buses will have to comply with strict rules, number one being that it cannot load and unload at any point except for designated stopovers and last point terminals.

Passengers are reminded to bring the following:

• Travel authority/PNP pass from terminal of origin;
• Valid ID which contains place of work or school;
• Written consent that the passenger is willing to test or undergo quarantine at the destination should the local government require it;
• Other documents that may be required by the local government or the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) .

The memorandum circular requires that the passenger gets a ticket 2 days before the trip either online or at the terminal. Passengers are prohibited to buy a ticket on the day of the trip except for emergency.

Passengers are reminded to wear face masks and face shields, bring alcohol and sanitizer, and observe 1-meter physical distancing.

Talking to fellow passengers and talking on the phone are also prohibited. – Rappler.com
