QC police sue woman for ‘alarm, scandal’ over suicide attempt
The QCPD says it filed cases of alarm and scandal, grave threat, and reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property against the woman

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) sued a 22-year-old woman after she allegedly attempted to take her own life on Saturday, October 10.

In a statement on Thursday, October 15, the QCPD said it filed cases of alarm and scandal, grave threat, and reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property against the woman.

According to the police, the woman attempted to commit suicide by shooting herself at a firing range along West Avenue in Barangay Nayong Kanluran in Quezon City.

“However, the range officer was shocked when he saw [the woman] bloodied while holding the rented handgun,” the QCPD said in its statement.

The range guardsman called the police, who then attempted to extract the woman from the scene. The woman, police said, refused to surrender the firearm before she was taken to a hospital.

QCPD said the woman remains at a hospital as of press time, recovering from the incident. – Rappler.com
