Rappler Talk: Bishop Ambo David on killings and 'death of conscience'

MANILA, Philippines – Bishop Pablo Virgilio David made headlines after his territory, the Diocese of Caloocan, became a killing field in President Rodrigo Duterte's war on drugs.

Rappler talks to David about the drug war killings and his fears of a "death of conscience" in predominantly Catholic Philippines.

Known by his nickname "Ambo," David also addresses criticism commonly hurled against Catholic leaders, such as why bishops condemn the drug war killings when they also have problems like corrupt and sexually abusive priests.
