The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced on Friday, April 16, the designation of Police Brigadier Ronaldo Olay as the next PNP spokesperson and chief of the PNP Public Information Office.

Olay will assume the position on April 16, according to the PNP. He will replace outgoing PNP spokesperson General Ildebrandi Usana, who is set to retire next week.

He will serve up to his retirement in 2023 unless he be reassigned to other positions.

Olay is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Bigkis-lahi Class of 1990. He also served as the PNP Deputy Director for Operations and NCRPO Deputy Regional Director for Administration.

In a message, Usana confirmed Olay’s designation and bid farewell.

“Pagpalain po sana kayo lagi ng Diyos sa lahat po ng iyong gawain. At nawa’y manatili po tayong.matatag, ligtas at may pagkakaisa sa gitna ng pandemyang ating kinakaharap,” Usana said.
