San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, March 1.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Zamora said he had taken a routine swab test on Sunday, February 28, and upon getting a positive result, took a second test on Monday that confirmed his status.
“I am asymptomatic and in good physical condition,” the mayor wrote in his post. “I have decided to quarantine myself in Cardinal Santos Medical Center to ensure that I do not transmit the virus to anyone else in the community and to protect everyone around me including my children and my wife who is a cancer survivor.”
In his post, he also advised that anyone he had come into contact with in recent days be tested, offering a free RT-PCR test for them at San Juan City Hall. – Rappler.com
