General Debold Sinas, chief of the Philippine National Police, visited on Thursday, December 3, wounded Staff Sergeant Daniray Bohulano of the Dasmariñas City Police, in the hospital here to personally pin a medal on him and hand him financial assistance.
Bohulano was honored with the Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting (PNP Wounded Medal) by the country’s top cop for his exemplar performance during a buy-bust operation.
Sinas was accompanied by Brigadier General Felipe Natividad, director of the Calabarzon (PRO4A) Police Regional Office, at the Dasmariñas City Medical Center.
Bohulano sustained a gunshot wound in the right arm during the buy-bust operation on Wednesday, December 2, Brgy. Paliparan 1 which ended in a gunfight that eventually killed the suspect.
“I would like to commend the operatives of Dasmarinas CPS for a job well done. Hindi tayo titigil na habulin ang mga kriminal na ito na patuloy na sumisira sa maraming buhay ng ating mga kababayan. (We will no stop going after these criminals who are destroying the lives of our citizens.) To our police, always be safe. Huwag na huwag kayong papayag na maunahan ng mga kriminal na ito. (Do not let these criminals draw ahead of you.)” said Sinas.
Bohulano was the poseur-buyer in the joint operation of the Dasmariñas City an the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency against the suspect Ernesto Alvarez Vinas.
According to reports, the suspect got nervous during the “transaction” and drew his gun and shot Bohulano.
Vinas tried to escape but was killed by the other cops in the scene.
Also arrested in the operation was Juric Soriano, 34 years old, male, and a resident of Biña compound NIA Road Brgy. Paliparan 1 Dasmariñas City, Cavite. – Rappler.com
