MAP: August 2012 flooding and disaster response

MANILA, Philippines – What areas were affected by flooding brought on by torrential rains that plagued Luzon early August 2012? What areas are likely to get flooded further? Where can those affected find help? Where & how can you help?

This map, which was put together by the Google Crisis Response Team responds to these questions. It includes 24-hour and 3-day accumulated rainfall data from the US-based National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

It also pools together information from the Philippine government’s Project NOAH on the extent of the Marikina river flood as well as an unofficial map of shelter locations and donation centers.
