MANILA, Philippines – Severe Tropical Storm Jenny (international codename Dujuan) has intensified late Friday morning, September 25, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

As of 10 am Friday, the center of Jenny was located at 1,135 km east of Calayan Island, Cagayan, with maximum sustained winds of 105 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center and gustiness of up to 135 km/h.

The severe tropical storm is moving northwest at 7 km/h, with moderate to heavy rainfall estimated within its 600-km diameter. 

PAGASA warned fisher folks against venturing out over the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Jenny is expected to be outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Tuesday morning, September 29.
