MANILA, Philippines – A southwest monsoon will affect the western section of Luzon, state weather bureau PAGASA said on Saturday, August 27.

As of 4 pm, Saturday, PAGASA located the eye of Typhoon Dindo (Lionrock) at 1,315 km east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. It has maximum sustained winds of 160 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 195 kilometers per hour (km/h). The typhoon is forecast to move east northeast at 15 km/h.

Monsoon rains will be experienced over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Central Luzon, CALABARZON, and the provinces of Mindoro and Palawan.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorm is expected over the rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds will blow from the southwest over Luzon and Visayas, causing moderate to rough seas.
