MANILA, Philippines – Most of the Philippines will experience mild weather as the Amihan or northeast monsoon continues to breeze through northern Luzon, weather bureau PAGASA said on Friday, October 19.

Occasional moderate to heavy rain are expected over eastern Visayas and Mindanao, which will have cloudy skies.

Some light rain may affect Cagayan Valley and the Ilocos region, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with brief rain or thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong Northeast winds are forecasted to prevail over northern Luzon, where the coastal waters along will be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the Northeast, with slight to moderate seas.

The Amihan usually brings slightly cooler temperatures that mark the beginning of the Christmas season, PAGASA forecaster Alcazar Aurelio told Rappler on Thursday.

Currently there is no major weather disturbance within the Philippine Area of Responsibility after tropical storm “Nina” (Prapiroon) exited the country over the weekend. – Rappler.com
