MANILA, Philippines – State weather bureau PAGASA is monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) which is embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

In its bulletin issued 5 pm on Wednesday, October 12, PAGASA said the LPA is 610 kilometers (km) east northeast of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

On Thursday, October 13, moderate to heavy rain is expected in Eastern Visayas and Caraga. PAGASA advised residents of these areas to watch out for possible floods and landslides.
