MANILA, Philippines – There are no more areas under tropical cyclone warning signals as of late Wednesday morning, September 6, as Tropical Depression Kiko continues to move away from the country.

In a bulletin issued 11 am on Wednesday, PAGASA said Kiko is already 115 kilometers west of Basco, Batanes, still crossing the Balintang Channel. It slowed down from 20 kilometers per hour (km/h) to just 10 km/h, heading northwest.

Kiko also intensified over the Balintang Channel, and now has maximum winds of 60 km/h and gustiness of up to 70 km/h. It is expected to further strengthen into a tropical storm within the next 24 hours, but possibly already outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by then.

Kiko is expected to leave PAR either Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning, September 7.
