MANILA, Philippines – A tropical storm with the international name Talim is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday morning, September 11. It will be given the local name Lannie.

In a bulletin issued 4 pm on Sunday, September 10, state weather bureau PAGASA said Tropical Storm Talim is still 1,745 kilometers east of Luzon, moving west northwest at 20 kilometers per hour (km/h).

Talim has maximum winds of 80 km/h and gustiness of up to 95 km/h.

After it enters PAR, it is expected to move toward extreme Northern Luzon.

Aside from the tropical storm, PAGASA is also monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) located 505 kilometers northeast of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.

This LPA will bring light to moderate rain to the Visayas, Bicol, Palawan, Quezon, and Aurora on Monday.

The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will only have isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
