MANILA, Philippines – State weather bureau PAGASA is monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) that is expected to bring rain to parts of the country.

In a bulletin issued 4 pm on Sunday, September 17, PAGASA said the LPA is already 685 kilometers east of Borongan, Eastern Samar.

This LPA will bring light to heavy rain and strong winds to Bicol, the Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga. Residents should be on alert for possible flash floods.

The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will only have isolated rainshowers, mostly in the afternoon or evening.

PAGASA also warned that coastal waters in Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough.
