LPA to bring rain showers over parts of Luzon on Sunday

MANILA, Philippines – A low pressure area (LPA) off Virac, Catanduanes, will bring scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, Bicol and the provinces of Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Aurora, and Quezon on Sunday, October 8, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its 4 pm bulletin Saturday, October 7, PAGASA said the LPA was located 295 kilometers north northeast of Virac, Catanduanes.

The areas affected by the LPA may also experience scattered lightning, and light to moderate with occasionally heavy rains, which may cause flooding and landslides.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies apart from isolated rainshowers, mostly in the afternoon or evening. PAGASA said this will be caused by localized thunderstorms. It may also bring isolated lightning, strong winds and occasionally heavy rains.

Moderate to strong winds will blow from the northeast to the northwest over Luzon, causing moderate to rough seas.

Moderate to occasionally strong winds will blow from northwest to southwest over  Eastern Visayas, causing moderate to occasionally rough seas.

In Western and Central Visayas and Mindanao, light to moderate winds will blow from northwest to southwest, causing slight to moderate seas. – Rappler.com
