Rain in north Luzon, Mindanao
MANILA, Philippines - Scorching temperatures will continue to prevail over many parts of the country on Tuesday, April 9, but some places in Luzon and Mindanao will be cooled down by rain.
Northern Luzon will be affected by the diffused tail end of a cold front, while eastern Mindanao will be affected by the easterly winds, state weather bureau PAGASA said in its 24-hour forecast Monday, April 8.
Cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms is in the forecast for Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Mindanao.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rains.
Metro Manila, Olongapo, Angeles, and Puerto Princesa will have temperatures as high as 34 degrees Celsius.
Tuguegarao, Cagayan de Oro, Metro Davao, and Zamboanga will have some respite from the heat courtesy of rains.
Prevailing winds will come from the east to northeast.
No tropical cyclone is within the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the bureau added.
