MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – State weather bureau PAGASA reissued its red rainfall warning for Metro Manila Tuesday morning, August 20 as Tropical Storm Maring (Trami) and the southwest monsoon continue to bring rain in Luzon and Visayas. 

As of 4 am Tuesday, Maring was estimated at 600 km east or Itbayat, Batanes (20.5ºN,128.4ºE), packing maximum sustained winds of 95 kph hear the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. It is forecast to move north at 11 kph. 

PAGASA advised affected areas to brace for severe flooding.

The following areas are experiencing heavy to torrential rains:

  • Rizal
  • Laguna
  • Bulacan
  • Zambales
  • Cavite
  • Bataan
  • Pampanga
  • Occidental Mindoro
