Wet Thursday in Mindoro due to LPA, monsoon

MANILA, Philippines – The Mindoro provinces will have a wet Thursday, September 26, as a low pressure area and the southwest monsoon bring rain to the area.

As of 4 pm Wednesday, September 25, the low pressure area near Mindoro was located 240 kilometers west of Lubang Island (14.2ºN,117.8ºE), state weather bureau PAGASA said in its 24-hour forecast.

The southwest monsoon, on the other hand, continues to affect southern Luzon and the Visayas.

The Mindoros will have cloudy skies accompanied by moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Residents are warned to be on the lookout for possible flash floods and landslides.

The Visayas, the rest of Mimaropa, Bicol, Calabarzon, Central Luzon, and Metro Manila will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain.

The rest of the archipelago, PAGASA said, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain or thunderstorms.

No tropical cyclone is within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the bureau added.
