MANILA, Philippines – Typhoon Santi (international name: Nari) has intesified as it moves away from the country, weather burea PAGASA said on Saturday evening, October 12.

As of 10 pm, the typhoon’s center was located at 300 km west of Iba, Zambales, PAGASA said in its latest tropical cyclone update.

Santi continues to move westward away from the country with maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 160 kph.

All storm signals have been lowered.

Santi has already killed 13 people as it pounded the northern Philippines on Saturday. It is expected to move west at 15 kph until it leaves the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Sunday morning.
