MANILA, Philippines – Parts of the country’s Pacific coast will experience a cloudy Monday, January 6, as parts of Luzon continue to feel the cool northeast monsoon.

State weather bureau PAGASA said the northeast monsoon, or the amihan, will continue affecting northern and central parts of Luzon.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and thunderstorms are expected in Bicol, Eastern Visayas, and the Surigao provinces, the bureau said in its 24-hour forecast Sunday, January 5.

The regions of Ilocos, the Cordilleras, Cagayan Valley, Central LUzon, and Metro Manila will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies accompanied by isolated rains.

The rest of the archipelago will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains, the bureau said.

Prevailing winds will come from the northeast. There are currently no tropical cyclones within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the bureau added.
