MANILA, Philippines – Despite the weakening of Tropical Depression Agaton into a low pressure area on Monday, January 20, it will still be rainy in parts of Mindanao on Tuesday, January 21.

As of 4 pm, the low pressure area was last located 400 km east southeast of Davao City, state weather bureau PAGASA said in its 24-hour forecast. The northeast monsoon, meanwhile, is affecting Luzon and Visayas, the bureau said.

Cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in Caraga and Northern Mindanao.

These areas should be warned of possible flash floods and landslides, the bureau said.

The Visayas will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rain, while, Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain.

Prevailing winds will come primarily from the northeast. With the weakening of Agaton, there is currently no tropical cyclone or major weather disturbance within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
