Cooler temps in Luzon, rain in parts of east PH

MANILA, Philippines – Parts of Luzon will start to cool down again Wednesday, February 12, while rain can be expected in parts of the east and south.

The tail-end of a cold front is affecting southern Luzon, while eastern Mindanao will feel the effects of the trough of a low pressure area, state weather bureau PAGASA said in its 24-hour forecast Tuesday, February 11.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rain and isolated thunderstorms are in the forecast for Bicol, Eastern Visayas, and the Surigao and Dinagat provinces, the bureau said.

Cloudy with light rain is expected in Cagayan Valley and the provinces of Aurora and Quezon, while the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies accompanied by isolated light rain.

The rest of the Philippines will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, accompanied by isolated rain or thunderstorms.

Prevailing winds will come from the east to northeast.

There are no tropical cyclones within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the bureau added.
