MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Tropical Storm Domeng (international name Peipah) maintained its strength as it moves west northwest in direction. 

As of 10 am Monday, April 7, state weather bureau PAGASA said the center of Domeng was at 770 km east of Davao City. It has maximum sustained winds of 65 km per hour near the center, and gustiness of up to 80 km per hour.

Domeng is forecast to move west northwest at 15 km per hour. 

Domeng is expected to be at 480 km east of Davao City by Tuesday morning, April 8, and at 290 km east northeast of the city by Wednesday morning, April 9. 

By Thursday morning, April 10, it will be in the vicinity of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

PAGASA estimated moderate to heavy rainfall of 5 to 15 mm per hour within the 400 km diameter of the tropical storm. 

According to Weather Philippines, an independent weather group, the potential landfall will be over the border between Surigao del Norte and Surigao del Sur on Thursday afternoon, April 10. Residents along Mindanao and Visayas are advised to monitor weather conditions and alerts in the area.
