Monsoon rains for Luzon on Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines – Regions in Luzon can expect more rains on Wednesday, June 11, because of the combined forces of Tropical Depression Ester and the southwest monsoon.

According to the June 10, 5 pm update of PAGASA, the Batanes group of islands will experience rains with gusty winds with moderate to rough seas.

This gloomy weather is due to Tropical Depression Ester which was last spotted 200 kilometers north of Basco, Batanes with maximum winds of 55 km per hour near the center. Signal No 1 has been declared in Batanes.

Tropical Depression Ester is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, Ilocos region, Babuyan and Calayan islands, Cordillera, Central Luzon and Metro Manila will experience monsoon rains. The rest of Luzon can expect occasional rains.

The rest of the country will experience isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms brought by partly cloudy to cloudy skies.

It’s going to be a windy Wednesday for Luzon. Moderate to strong winds from the southwest will prevail over the region causing its coastal waters to be moderate to rough.

Visayas and Mindanao will be visited by light to moderate winds from the southwest. Seas in these two regions will thus be slight to moderate. – Rappler.com
