Monsoon rains for parts of Luzon on Saturday

MANILA, Philippines – Parts of Luzon will experience monsoon rains on Saturday, June 14, as the Southwest Monsoon continues to affect Luzon.

The low pressure area (LPA) spotted outside the country on Thursday, June 12, is now a tropical depression located 500 km west of Basco, Batanes. It is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Batanes, Calayan, and Babuyan group of islands, the regions of Ilocos and Cordillera, as well as the provinces of Zambales, Tarlac, Bataan, Pampanga and Bulacan will have monsoon rains on Saturday.

Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon, and the provinces of Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Mindoro, and Palawan will experience occasional rains. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. 

Coastal waters will be moderate to rough as moderate to strong winds blow from the southwest over Luzon. They will be slight to moderate as light to moderate winds blow from the southwest over Visayas, and from the south to southwest over Mindanao.
