MANILA, Philippines – A weaker Typhoon Paeng (international name Nuri) was spotted 1,210 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan at 5 pm on Monday, November 3 as it makes its way out of the Philippines.
The typhoon’s maximum sustained wind speeds were reduced to 205 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness reduced to 240 kph, said state weather bureau PAGASA in their Monday, evening bulletin.
Paeng is expected to exit the country by Tuesday, added the agency.
But rains are still expected in different parts of the country. Eastern Visayas and Mindanao should be ready for light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.
Northern Luzon will continue to be affected by the Northeast Monsoon. Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and the Ilocos region may experience isolated light rains.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country should prepare for isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to strong winds from the northeast are likely to blow through Northern and Eastern Luzon and Eastern Visayas. Coastal waters in these areas are thus likely to be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate resulting in slight to moderate seas. – Rappler.com
