Cloudy Tuesday for PH as storm nears PAR

MANILA, Philippines – The entire country is in for a cloudy Tuesday on March 17 as a tropical storm approaches the Philippine Area of Responsiblity.

Tropical storm Bavi was spotted 1,645 kilometers east of Bicol region at 4 pm on Monday, said PAGASA.

In its Monday evening bulletin, the agency said the storm was packing winds of 65 kilometers per hour (km/h) to 80 km/h. Moving westward at a speed of 20 km/h, it is expected to enter PAR on Tuesday morning. It will then be given the name, “Betty.”

Tuesday will mean light to moderate winds over the entire country, added PAGASA. Ocean waters are thus likely to be slight to moderate.
