The Supreme Court (SC) will start providing cash aid to judges and other court personnel who contract COVID-19 and need hospitalization.
Court Administrator Midas Marquez issued a circular on Tuesday, April 27, providing details of the cash aid.
Those with mild to moderate illness will get P15,000; those with severe to critical illness will get P30,000; and the family of an employee who dies of COVID-19 will get P50,000.
The aid will be given to the family of a fatality even if the deceased employee was not hospitalized.
“With the concurrence of the members of the Court en banc, Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo has approved the grant of financial assistance to judges and court personnel who contracted COVID-19 and required inpatient care or hospital confinement, depending on the extent of their illness, from March 2020 until the current pandemic ends,” said Marquez’s circular.
So far, there have been 20 COVID-19 deaths in the judiciary and 1,113 confirmed cases, according to SC spokesperson Brian Keith Hosaka.
Those availing of financial aid must submit proof of a positive test, medical certificate or death certificate, and must fill out request forms. They may email caresubsidy.oca@judiciary.gov.ph.
