Retired soldiers nabbed for killing Isabela vice mayor, aide

Vice Mayor Florante Agustin Raspado, 53, and Anthony Agarin, 30 and security aide of Councilor Lanie Uy, were dead on the spot after two gunmen attacked the town hall 11 am while session is going on.

Police Superintendent Alex de los Santos, the regional police information officer, identified the suspects as Reynaldo Tapia and Michael Deocariza, retired soldiers who were based at Camp General Mateo Capin in Tanay, Rizal.

De los Santos told Rappler in a phone interview that the Jones town police were able to exchange gunfire with the perpetrators, who fled toward Quirino province.

The regional police then alarmed the Quirino police for the hot pursuit operation.

The suspects, who used a red Mitsubishi Adventure bearing a plate number PIU 994, were later caught in Maddela town in Quirino.

Suspects Tapia and Deocariza were taken into police custody for further investigation. – Rappler.com
