WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
In a historical move, labor leader and Partido Lakas ng Masa presidential bet Leody de Guzman will vie for the presidency against bigger names in Philippine politics. De Guzman, a labor leader and organizer for over three decades, will be having Laban ng Masa chairperson Walden Bello as his running mate.
The tandem had built their platforms on economic, political, and social development reforms. As they’ve said in previous statements, they are out to fight against the so-called “Marcos-Duterte Axis of Evil.”

Comelec: No campaign permit application from Leody De Guzman’s proclamation rally
During a press briefing earlier today, Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez said the report it received from its National Capital Region office did not include the name of Leody de Guzman as among the presidential candidates that secured a campaign permit for their campaign event today.
“We already have a copy of ‘yung Matrix nila for all applications received, approved and denied,” added Comelec Director Lai David. When asked if this would mean De Guzman is committing an election offense for pushing through with the rally, David answered: “Definitely, it is an election offense because the requirement is they need to seek a permit first before conducting a campaign. So yes, it is an election offense.”
In a phone call with Rappler, De Guzman’s running mate and VP candidate Walden Bello says they are still fixing the Comelec permit ahead of their campaign rally at the Bantayog ng mga Bayani at 6 PM.
