[WATCH] ‘Divine Intervention’: How the church helps evacuees during Taal unrest
The Archdiocese of Lipa offers many ways to help the evacuees, such as providing relief goods and monitoring the volcano

The Lipa Archdiocesan Social Action Commission (LASAC), under the Archdiocese of Lipa in Batangas, devised many ways to help evacuees at the height of Taal Volcano’s restiveness.

The organization receives donations from private and faith-based organizations that would be distributed to evacuees in the designated evacuation centers of the province. LASAC gives two kinds of relief goods: food packs and non-food items, which include plates, utensils, and blankets.

Aside from conducting relief operations, the organization also established a command center that helped monitor the volcano. A CCTV camera was set up in the Agoncillo town to capture the volcano’s activities 24/7.

LASAC also holds a regular briefing to provide updates on the latest activities of the volcano. – Rappler.com
