Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III is home.
On Saturday, June 26, the late former president of the Philippines is laid to rest at the Manila Memorial Park beside the graves of his parents and democracy icons, former senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. and former president Corazon “Cory” Aquino.
Filipinos clad in yellow – the political color of the Aquinos’ Liberal Party – once again take to the streets to say their goodbyes to Noynoy.
They flash the “Laban” sign, reminiscent of the time Noynoy’s parents bravely fought against a dictator.
It was a somber, solemn day as the people grieve for the man who was once the father of the entire nation.
