No less than Pope Francis, fondly called “Lolo Kiko” by Filipinos, is leading a Mass in Vatican City to celebrate the 500th year of Christianity in the Philippines.

The Mass is scheduled at 5 pm, Manila time (10 am, Rome time) on Sunday, March 14. It is set to be held right at the heart of the global Catholic Church – Saint Peter’s Basilica – and is slated to be aired via livestream.

Rappler is carrying this livestream on Sunday.

Concelebrating the Mass with the Pope is Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, former archbishop of Manila and now prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, as well as other priests based in Rome.

“Join us in Rome to pray, praise, and thank God for his gift of the Christian faith,” said Scalabrinian priest Father Ricky Gente of the Filipino Chaplaincy in Rome.
